How to use the draft mode?

As an admin, your uploaded slides and presentations will become immediately available to end-users in the library once the syncing process is completed. However, if you don’t want end-users to be able to access the uploaded slides right away, it is possible to mark them as draft. This enables admins to make necessary changes to the slide in batches, especially during the transition period of a rebrand, without having to take the slide down from the library and reupload it later.

To do this, you would have to go to Manage Assets view of the slide or presentation, toggle on the button ‘Mark as draft’ and click on ‘Update’.

Remarks:

  1.  If the slide has been added to any variable slide group in a presentation builder, it will not be visible in the variable slide group after it is changed to the draft mode. If you want end-users to be able to choose the slide from the variable slide group again, you will have to untoggle the ‘mark as draft’ button.

  1.  If the slide is used as ‘use specific’ in the logic in a variable slide group, it will be visible to end-users in the final compiled presentation when they use the presentation builder even after the draft mode is enabled.

  1. Draft mode also works for Word documents, Excel sheets, images and icons.

  1. For section placeholders in Word, you can mark Word documents containing only the sections as draft. This will hide the sections from end-users as they are probably not meant to be used as an independent Word document. Just like slides, if the Word document is used as ‘use specific’ in the logic in Word builder, it will be visible to end-users in the final compiled Word document even after the draft mode is enabled.

Change from draft mode to non-draft mode

Admins can use the filters in ‘Manage Assets’ view to filter out slides and presentations in the draft mode. Simply un-toggle the ‘Mark as draft’ button will make the slide and presentation visible to end-users again.
