How to create and manage slide collections

How do I create and manage slide collections?

Collections let you group related slides together so that users browsing the Explore section can discover all the alternatives in one place. A collection might contain the same slide in multiple languages, a set of visual variants for the same topic, or a cluster of slides that belong to the same campaign.

Example: your design team has produced 12 versions of a company overview slide — one per regional market. Without a collection, users searching the library would have to find each version individually. With a collection, browsing any one of those slides surfaces the full set, so users always find the version that fits their context.

How to create a collection

Owners, managers and gatekeepers can create and manage collections.

  1. In the sidebar, navigate to the slide management area and click the Collections tab. The page lists all existing collections, or shows an empty state if none have been created yet.
  2. Click Create new. The Create a slide collection dialog opens.
  3. In the Add name of the slide collection field, enter a name for the collection. This field is required.
  4. Optionally enter a Description to give users more context about what the collection contains.
  5. Click Create. SlideHub confirms "Collection created!" and shows how many slides were added. Click Slide collection view to open the collection immediately, or Go to overview to return to the full list.

How to add slides to a collection

  1. On the Collections tab, click Add slides in this collection next to the collection you want to populate. A slide picker opens.
  2. Select the slides you want to include and confirm. The slide count on the collection updates immediately.

You can also assign slides to a collection from the slide management view: select one or more slides, then choose Set the slide collection to pick an existing collection or create a new one. SlideHub confirms "Slides added to collection!" once the assignment is saved.

Tip: Presentation proxy slides cannot be added to collections. Only standard inspiration slides are eligible.

How to edit or delete a collection

  • To rename or update the description: Click Edit this collection next to the collection in the list. The Edit the slide collection dialog opens with the current name and description pre-filled. Make your changes and click Update.
  • To remove individual slides: Open the collection view and select the slides you want to remove, then click Remove.
  • To delete the collection entirely: Click Remove on the collection row and confirm. Deleting a collection does not delete the slides — they remain in your library.

How do blocked collections work?

SlideHub includes a set of curated global inspiration collections available to all companies. If some of these are not relevant to your organisation, you can block them so they do not appear in your users' Explore section.

To block or unblock global collections:

  1. On the Collections tab, select the collections you want to affect.
  2. Click Block to hide the selected collections from your users' Explore view, or Unblock to make them visible again.

The Block tooltip confirms: "Blocked collections will not show up in explore assets for any users." Blocked collections remain visible to you in the admin interface — blocking only affects what users see in Explore.

(Please note that blocking applies to SlideHub's global curated collections only. Collections you create for your own company are always visible to your users and are not affected by the block/unblock controls.)

What do users see in Explore?

When a user opens a slide that belongs to a collection, they can browse the full collection to compare all related slides side by side. Collections make it easier for users to find alternatives without running multiple searches — see What are inspiration slides? for more on how users interact with slides in the Explore section.

Can collections be scoped to a specific team?

Yes. Collections can be assigned to a team within your company, making them visible only to members of that team in the Explore section. Collections without a team assignment are visible to all members of your company. Contact your Customer Success Team if you need help setting up team-scoped collections.
